MS Global Finance vs MBA

Hi all,

Looking for advice regarding two programs. I was recently accepted to 1) NYU Stern/HKUST MS in Global Finance and 2) William & Mary Online MBA.

The MS program is 1 year and designed for those with min of 5 years experience (average is 10+) so essentially executive program. The core benefit to me is in-person class time and networking. The program isn't ranked across all major providers but I've seen it ranked top 5, top 10 and top 25 for the specific program while the finance programs at Stern/HKUST are highly rated on their own.

The MBA program is 2 year and online. There are a few in-person residencies but otherwise is 100% remote, which I do not love. Similar to above, average work experience of 10 years. It's a top 30 program for the online format. I would not be able to get into a highly ranked part-time program in Manhattan and full-time or EMBA is not interesting to me.

I am 30 years old and just left supply chain management after 8 years to join a large bank in Manhattan as a VP in corporate banking. My peers have spent their careers in finance so I am looking to catch up and move forward.

I know there are a lot of MSF vs MBA posts but almost nothing regarding the NYU/HKUST program so looking for some help and perspective.

Thank you!
