MSF Chances UPDATE

Hello, I posted a discussion about by finance chances.

I have an update to said post, and would appreciate some feedback.

My stats are as follows:

GPA: 2.75
fresh 1.5 soph 3.0 junior 3.75

GMAT 670 (q46 v36)

WE: summer internship at PR firm in Phoenix (doing finance/accounting)

ECs: Communications Director of Marketing Club

Schools:

Arizona
Purdue
Boston College
Houston
Texas Tech
Vanderbilt
USC MACC
USC MBT
UT-Austin MPA
Michigan MPA
Fordham
Rochester
Illinois
Villanova
UT-Austin
SMU

UT-Dallas

My quesiton is: What if I increased my GPA to 2.9 by app time, and re-did my GMAT to 700-710 range. How would my chances improve?

Thank you for all of the help everyone

It was a mix of messing about, chasing ladies, hitting the nose candy too much, and just not giving a fudge.

But I got my act together. Have been on the dean's/chancellor's list all of last year.

Please, anyone with insight on my chances give me an honest opinion.

I'd say your chances at a tier 1 MSF are slim to none. If you can get your GMAT over the 700 hurdle, maybe an adcom will take a chance on you. Are you a minority? If you are, it might help.

You might have to reach for Tier 2, and have realistic shots at Tier 3 programs.

If I were you, I'd go to a tier 2 program, kill it, network like a hawk, take a CF job at an F500, work 3-5 years, re-do the GMAT, and apply to a top 50 MBA (if your MSF GPA is 3.5+), and then maybe land an associate gig at an MM/Boutique for IBD.

Yeah, it's a long road, but if you really want to do IBD, it might just work.

What the fuck, 1.5? What is that, muchacho?
