MSF - OSU(Fisher School) vs MSF - Brandeis International

Hi,

I have got MSF admit in 2 schools - OSU Fisher(9months) and Brandeis International(16 months). I have also got 20% funding from OSU.

Could someone please help me by sharing their opinion about which one is better? I have less than a week to decide.

I am very confused as OSU has got a very good brand name..

My profile:
International student from India
Cleared CFA levels 1&2
7+years of experience in corporate Financial Planning & Analysis after MBA from a tier 2/3 college in India.

Thanks

Sounds like Brandeis is 2 years as opposed to OSU's 1? That means you can't complete an internship at OSU and you'll go straight into recruiting. Idk much about Brandeis honestly, but if you want to be in the states I'd probably recommend OSU just because wherever you go, people will have heard of it before. Also, they seem to employ more people in front office roles.

Thanks OttoReadmore , this is really helpful.. There are 2 reasons why I am confused. 1. Brandeis is ranked at 10th whereas OSU is at 17th in the 2016 FTE rakings (https://tfetimes .com/2016-msf-rankings/).
2. Brandeis offers me an internship as part of core practicum. I feel this might be considered as an important factor during placements.

Do these things strengthen the profile? and do they matter a lot during interviews?

  1. I don't know much about the rankings so I can't comment here...sorry.

  2. Depends on what the internship is and how this system works. I'm not as familiar but I'd get more info on it. It basically boils down to this - if they offer you a PWM internship when you want to do IB, it won't help. I think you have to figure out where you want to get placed right after the program and then see how well each program places. Having an internship is an advantage if you're unsure of where you want to be placed though.
