Non Top Rank MBA for Corporate finance

Hi guys,

I was pretty active posting some time ago as I have been doing some serious reflection on my career and where I want to go in life. WSO and the community have been real helpful and supportive so far so thank y'all.

This post is sort of a repeat but long story sort...bounced around a bit fresh out of undergrad. Big 4 audit --> wealth management --> starting/growing family business in RE development. I would like to go back to school and get back in the finance world.

Being realistic with myself.... the "high finance" train has left the station for me. I would probably look into an MBA program like Rutgers/Fordham/Villanova due to cost and a few other factors. That being said I am looking to land a solid corporate role. Something like FPL & A maybe in pharma or something like that.

based on my what I think is unique experience, is this possible for me? Again unlike most of the posting on the forum not looking to go T10 MBA to BB. Just looking to get the MBA from a solid school to get back on track and climb the ladder from there. Hoping my past work experience won't hurt me.  Thanks guys.

It seems somewhat possible for you, but you didn't disclose your uGPA and the strength of your recommendations or any GMAT/GRE score, so it's hard to say if you could get in or not, but the bar is definitely lower at these schools in stats compared to the T10. It does seem like if you get into these schools, you could likely land in a position of FP&A, if that is what you want.
