Profile Opinion Please

Hi all,

Thought I would solicit some honest opinions here regarding my "profile" and candidacy for several top business schools. Target schools are: Harvard, Wharton, Columbia, and London Business School.

Background:

Ivy undergrad
Ghana national
3.2 / 740 GMAT
Varsity athlete

Work Exp:
2 yrs Investment Management in NYC covering telecoms, utilities, and gold
1 yr IFC
Candidate for CFA Level 3
Have taken courses for an "alternative transcript"

Post b-school goals: emerging/frontier market investments

What are my "chances" at my target schools above?

Appreciate your opinions and feedback.

I'd say you're competitive at LBS, Columbia, probably a good fit for Wharton too, and HBS will be a bit of a reach.

Hi JBlake8500,

You have a very strong application. What will matter most at this point is first, crafting your "brand" to an admissions team, and then supporting this message with letters of recommendations and personal essays. Your GMAT score and information above fits the profile of candidates to top business schools; now you need to focus on the questions "Why this particular business school?" and "How can you contribute to an incoming class?"

I hope this was of help. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions.
