Rate my UK/EU MSc degree options
Objective from a master's program: consulting or finance
Would appreciate your opinions on the following programs.
First Tier Programs
University of Warwick:

Imperial College London:
○ MSc Economics & Strategy for Business
Erasmus University Rotterdam:
○ MSc Strategic Management

○ MSc Management
Imperial College London:

Second Tier Programs
University of Edinburgh:
○ MSc Economics
London School of Economics:
○ MSc International Political Economy
Erasmus University Rotterdam:
○ MSc Strategy Economics
Oxford:
○ MSc Economic and Social History
for IB/Consulting (in the UK!) the degree does not really matter, what matters more is the brand name of the uni - therefore I would go with either the Oxford/LSE programme
For IB this applies mostly to undergraduate degrees. At the grad level you're mostly expected to study Finance/Accounting and Finance/Finance and Economics
I'm not sure, on the LSE website they state that many graduates of the program I listed tend go to banking/consulting. So then in your perspective, I should focus on the programs in economics/management?
Thing is I also am doing my undergrad in economics, and hence maybe that will be relevant.
Would you say the same with regard to consulting gigs?
Would also say this is true for the US. Many people in America have great respect for LSE & Oxford. No one knows Erasmus and some of the other “1st tier” programs you mentioned.
No one is going to recruit from LSE/Oxbridge into the USA directly so this is largely useless. There's a pretty well-established hierarchy of masters (normally MFins) for London recruiting which goes beyond the brand name itself.
From a purely name perspective, LSE/Ox are best to get into consulting/finance, but I can see that their MSc courses aren't what you want; as an earlier comment said, you'd want something related to the industry. Therefore I'd say Warwick/ICL Econ/UCL management, as Warwick have a large postgrad focus especially in Economics/Business School, and ICL/UCL have the benefit of being in London. If I had to pick one I'd probably be leaning toward ICL Econ/Strategy for Business, the course sounds better + you're in London. Best of luck!

IMHO, for fin/consulting 1) MSc Economics Imperial College London 2) MSc Management Imperial College London/ MSc Managament UCL 3) University of Warwick: MSc Economics then LSE and Oxford
Agree but not sure I would put Imperial in the First Tier Programs. Imperial is more a STEM school and its B-school is really recent.
