Transferring schools
Hey everyone, this is my first post so not sure if I did it right. But is it worth transferring schools if you go to a super non target? Or just stay and do what you can? I am a rising sophomore for context.

Hey so it’s worth at least trying to transfer between freshman and sophomore year. That’s really your only window before recruiting starts. I would recommend applying to “transfer freindly” schools whose transfer acceptance rate is higher than first year. Think schools like UVA, UNC, northwestern, and BU (although BU’s still a nontarget).
For applications, get good grades and ECs and make sure you have a compelling reason for transferring besides academics (ex transferring from a smaller school to larger school for for reasons or something like that)
There are a ton of threads on this topic in WSO already so look those up. I got a ton of good advice from them when I was considering transferring. I ended up getting into some targets/semi-targets, but stayed at my non-target for fit reasons
