damn short, get in to all the above?
haha no, interviewed but dinged @ columbia, no interview @ chicago, interviewed @ tuck, havent heard from MIT, 2nd volley is gonna be NYU UT Duke Cornell
Short, do you mind sharing your stats?
700 48Q 38V 6AWA gmat, 2.7 state school GPA, LOTS of ECs n leadership pre- and post-grad, 3.76 'remake' GPA on 10 classes at NYU
a/s/l?
pics?
Your stats are incredibly mediocre, shouldn't you be aiming a bit lower?
seeing as ive gotten half schollies to top 15 and interviewed at m7, apparently not
imho, unless youre at a GPA-ridden school like Columbia/HBS, the GPA is merely used as a 'gatekeeper' since usually low GPAs keep you from getting top jobs. if you can land a solid role from a 'no name school' that will matter much more, and if you have a solid story behind you even better. helps that neither of my parents graduated high school so me going from non-HS graduate family to working as a trader shines for acdoms. work experience matters a lot, its not like im doing equities in dallas... or back office equities in dallas, even worse.
and this is what ive taken and read from admissions consultants sites and evaluations (which i can dig up) and edumacate you on.
Well congrats on getting scholarships to top 15 schools, I probably deserve that monkey shit then. You must have an excellent pnl, or solid track record. What' s your goal after getting an MBA, HFs?
pnl good but also do a lot of recruiting and other training stuff on the side -- stuff that isnt 'in my job description' that i do on the side which is what b schools want. i orig was htinking buy side ER but might trek over to consulting, dunno yet
short, you're just like a woman changing your mind every other day as to what you want to do. I thought you were gonna go to Austin for a startup?
lolwut. no i never said that. i got into UT last year with scholly but held off. my friend's company that is a startup just opened an austin office though?
what sorts of ECs are you involved in post UG?
liberating oppressed hispanics from their overbearing, NYC housing law violating caucasian landlords. on subcommittee of board of trustees at my alma mater and resurrected a mentoring program at my alma mater.
short it says you went to uconn which is where I woulda went id I stayed instate -- what was the recruiting/jobs there like?
