Vanderbilt vs. UVa for IB

I'm an incoming Freshman and I just picked Vanderbilt over UVa for its smaller class sizes, great location, and its stronger overall freshman class (~11% accepted RD at Vandy versus around ~23% accepted at Virginia OOS). At Vandy, I'll be double majoring in Economics and Human and Organizational Development. Had I gone to UVa, I would have majored in Econ and would have applied to McIntire for Junior year.

I've been reading posts here, and I've become skeptical of my decision. I will most probably go into IBanking in the East coast after graduation, so is Vandy a lesser school than UVa in terms of being a target for BBs? I know that Vanderbilt is climbing the ranks because of its selectivity and caliber of incoming students though. How good are the opportunities at Vandy, especially on the East coast? I can't see myself working in the South after graduation. Will my choice put me at a disadvantage? I was also admitted to Bowdoin College (#4 LAC) btw.

I would say both are great schools with top notch programs. UVA has slight advantage because of the brand but Vandy has phenomenal placements, is a semi-target, smaller class size, NYC, South and Texas focused program with great faculty. So it really depends on where you want to work.

Vandy transfer here, you have nothing to worry about. Vandy has a huge alumni network which has been very good to me so far and almost all of the bb's have résumé drops or come on campus. Especially baml and Goldman. The comment above couldn't be more wrong in terms of rankings, our ranking and competitivity has increased dramatically over the past few years. Faster than any other school.

While it's true that McIntire probably gets better recruiting, vandy is a sick school and you can succeed from here.

Can you verify this please?

USC and vandy are generally cited as two of the fastest growing (reputationally speaking) schools. Here's a link to a page that shows a graph of Vandy's acceptance rate. You shouldn't worry coming out of Vandy, it's a great school
