Harvard takes ~10 transfers per year and that includes athletes... so while I'm sure you have an impressive background your odds are extremely, extremely low

Unless you hate the school environment at W and are transferring bc of that, you are reading way too much into the difference between H/W or between specific majors. you will have just about any path open out of W

Yah, and a few of those spots are bookmarked for veterans transferring from CC or other places like that. Transfer admissions at H are basically impossible; OP should just stay at Wharton.

I made 2 posts and I wanted to delete this one being that the second one is more in-depth. Here it is

First year Wharton undergrad (Double major in Math) looking to transfer to Harvard for Applied Math/stats and gov.

Pros of Penn

Best friend goes to the school

Best UG business school, so job offers won't be too hard

Great living situation

Cons of Penn

No true Applied math program

No stats major (just concentration within Wharton)

Business requirements like marketing that take away from legal studies and math

No longer interested in traditional forms of finance and would rather go to law school (Harvard, Yale, Stanford)

Not a big fan of Philly area

Pros of Harvard

It is Harvard

Better concentration options for all 3 areas of study (Stats, Math, & Gov/Legal)

Cons of Harvard

Only ~12 people get in

Cambridge weather (not large problem)

Leaving friends

I also have 2 national full-ride scholarships that are applicable to any university in the United States, meaning that both schools would end up paying me to attend, so finances is of no large value.

Formatting messed up on phone

I really don't think you will get into Harvard. I'm sure you are a top student but their transfer acceptance rate is literally nil. After earmarked spots (athletes, CC students, veterans) there are maybe 2-3 spots for "random" transfers, of which there are hundreds to 1000+ highly qualified applicants. It's honestly just not worth the amount of effort to apply (rec letters, essays) you might as well save those reference people for law school as no one wants to write you a ton of rec letters.

Be a top student at W and you will have every shot at Harvard Law or any of those law schools. Law school is less and less popular, you don't need to have the BEST school or the BEST major when you are in a great major at an equally good school.
