Which Program? NYU MOT, Vandy MSF, USC MSF, Duke MMS
Hey guys,
Just wondering which program out of these 5 has the best chance to get into wall street. what would you rank them? Thanks a lot!!
A little background about me: International student, graduate from the University of Florida in 2020 with a finance degree, worked in NYC for 1 year as a financial analyst (lost IB offer due to covid..), currently working in a tire 2 international IB in China. Looking forward to hopefully going back to NYC and keeping working in finance after graduating.
previously had 1 IB intern in NYC, 1 IB intern in China
NYU management of technology
pros: it's in NYC, School brand, $11000 scholarship, 2-year program (1 more shot to get an intern & return offer?)
cons: the program is not that strong
Vanderbilt MSF
pros: nice placement in IB
cons: location? 1-year program
USC MSF
pros: LA is cool, school is not bad, 2-year program
cons: west coast focus, finance opportunity concern
Duke MMS
pros: brand name
cons: already studied finance in UG, the program might not help much in terms of academic, the location
Vandy or NYU should give you the push you’re looking for here.
Thanks! I'd love to end up at NYU if it's their MBA or stern program. But for MOT, do you think that would be a problem for getting interviews from the banks on the street? I do love the overall brand name and its location advantage.
You should add UT's MSF to your list, might be a better option than Vandy IMO. I believe its also only 1 year.
Whichever salty vandy kid MS'd me, - UT has more alumni in the industry and that itself should make it easier for you
I think it’s just that, numbers-wise, the Vanderbilt MSF has better placement stats than UT (higher starting salary, 100% offer rate by graduation, etc.) This was found within 5 seconds of googling.
