Anyone has experience with Geneva Trading?
Hi, and thanks in advance.
Title pretty much says it. I Got an offer from Geneva Trading in Chicago and wondering if anyone can shed some light.
I just started interviewing trading related roles not long ago. Just got a call this morning and Geneva is willing to extend an offer as junior trader (new grad no experience). So I have some questions before moving forward:
1) I haven't start talking about money yet. I'll start intern/training during my last quarter and start full time after graduate. I understand the starting salary probably won't be high to begin with, but I wonder how low it is? I had someone told me that they pays "shitty", and I wonder if anyone can confirm/rebut this claim? And what range should I be expecting?
2) I have seen Geneva's name pops up here and their. It seems they are at least reputable to some degree. I know this is not like Optiver/TMG but how good/bad is Geneva in the industry?
3) any other general comment on Geneva as well? Especially the technology and automatic/algo side? My impression is they are not big on automatic/algo from my interview, but any other info is appreciated.
Many thanks guys! I'll buy a bear to anyone who's in Chicago and willing to provide some suggestions ;)
Well most likely I'll buy a beer not a bear. And definitely not the BEAR.
Also, please excuse my typos. I'm on my phone :(
Who's your bear guy in Chicago? Give me his contacts please.
Ha I wish. any insights?
hey, I am also looking at the trainee program for Geneva in Dublin, Ireland. I wanted to know what the structure is for trainees. I just completed another traineeship in London but I cant stay living in London and wanted to find something in Dublin. These guys seem to be a good firm. I would like to find out if there is a salary for trainees. \ 1. Salary/ Comiss for trainees? 2. For graduating up to trader, what are the fees or is there a basic salary? What is the compensation package they offer? By doing the program I want to lower my risk ratio and up my win rate. Basically lifting my risk reward ratio overall. Thanks T
Would also like to know about your experience with this, interviews and so on
Thanks
Know someone who traded there. Salary data on glassdoor is pretty accurate. Have also heard the traders themselves may have to supply at least a portion of the capital for some duration of time. When you start racking up your Sharpe ratios, become experienced, etc. that goes away. Not a top-tier shop, but that doesn't matter. Go where you can become an experienced trader and the rest will follow
