Background Check, Immediate help!!

Hi I need help,

I interned at an unpaid insurance company that made me a cold call, freshman year and quit after two weeks so they hate me.

upcoming internship HR wants an employment letter saying I interned there for background check, what should I do..... can I just make up a fake employment letter.

need help, thank you!

Don’t worry dude, you should have some offer of employment letter from before you started as your proof. It doesn’t matter if you do or don’t have your boss as a reference. I will say it’s a bad look that you quit after two weeks but they won’t check that I bet and having worked one of those insurance sales “internships” for a summer I completely get it, they are garbage and almost always worse than your highschool job.

Ah, and I take it you didn’t have any earnings in those two weeks you could claim eh? Look for ANYTHING in personal emails indicating employment like a start date or welcome aboard email and just explain to hr you didn’t have any earnings while there because it was an unpaid internship. Don’t make up some employment thing, that is probably the only thing that would hurt you doing nothing would be better than that

Let this be a lesson kiddos.
First lesson: Unpaid internships are often garbage and you gotta be wary of sketchy fly by night firms.

Second lesson: don’t burn bridges/quit out of the blue/quit too early

You actually worked there and you quit instead of getting fired so you have absolutely nothing to hide. What could actually get you in trouble is fabricating an employment letter so do not do that. Background checks are to verify that you actually worked there, not whether you did a good job or not.

yea the BC wasn't able to verify, and hr is asking me if I have any sort of documentation or can I get documentation that says the dates I was employed.

I don't have any and I reached out to the firm and they aren't picking up calls or emails, so have no clue what to do, little scared.
