From institutional sales in BB to trading or IM

i am from India. I started my career at a prop shop and then did my MBA. post that i got an opportunity in the FICC sales desk at a BB I-bank. I always wanted to go back to managing money and was thinking someday i will get mobility in trading. (On why i started out in sales in the first place? India has limited opportunities so i grabbed the only offer in SnT that was offered that year). haven't found any within the org. considering the limited opportunities in my country i am thinking about moving to the west now. for that i am thinking about doing an MS in finance course as a stepping stone. I have 3 years in prop trading and 5 years in institutional sales experience and had finished my 3 levels of CFA during my trading days.

Any suggestions on which programmes are the best for such a career move? Which continent is better (i am biased towards NA, US to be specific, but i saw many more top programmes in Europe)? Also how much may my work ex be an impediment in getting an admit in the programmes considering that by next fall i will have a total of 9 years experience? A few steps back in career is not a issue as i know i will be able to step up in career progression quickly wherever i go and in the long run the odds are in the favour of the move working out better (broader market, more breadth and depth of opportunity, exposed to a market where one may be exposed to many positive randomness, one can always make a move from a DM to one's own EM country)
