How are you managing your personal portfolio with recession risk in near term/happening?
With recession risk being very high / already happening (2Q’s of negative GDP), how are you managing your personal portfolio?
Markets down bad YTD, inflation still uncontrolled, high likelihood of more interest rate hikes, and many other negative macro trends (Ukraine, supply chain, housing in-affordability…).
My lines of thinking (absolute sheep investor with mediocre returns):
- Cashing out on positions that have slightly recovered from the recent bull run from the labor report and are still in the green
- Riding the reds for long term if they are long term plays, if short term and in red cashing out
- Stop deploying capital and build dry powder for next 6-8 months to see how market reacts
- Bottom-line: I think we are in the “bull trap” phase of a bubble and I believe the market will have negative performance over next 10 months
Curious to see everyone’s thoughts and strategy on managing their personal portfolio right now. Also feel free to roast my thoughts.
