Based on the most helpful WSO content, HSBC's Sales & Trading (S&T) platform isn't directly mentioned in the context provided. However, I can share some insights on how S&T rankings generally work and where a bank like HSBC might fit based on the information available.

S&T rankings can vary depending on several factors including the strength of the bank's desk in specific products (e.g., equities, fixed income), geographical presence, and the overall market reputation. Rankings are often influenced by the bank's ability to provide institutional investment advice, execution, and research for their clients' portfolios. The primary clients in S&T are hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds, or mutual funds.

In the context of HSBC, while it's not explicitly ranked within the provided information, HSBC is a global bank with a significant presence in both Asia and Europe. Given its global footprint, HSBC's S&T platform could be competitive, especially in regions where it has a strong presence. For example, in Asia, where HSBC has historically had a strong footprint, it might be expected to have a more competitive S&T platform compared to other regions.

It's also important to note that the overall strength of a bank's S&T platform can be less about the bank itself and more about the strength of specific desks within S&T, as mentioned in the context regarding S&T desks in Hong Kong.

For more specific insights into HSBC's S&T platform and its ranking, it would be beneficial to look into industry reports, rankings, and perhaps discussions among professionals on platforms like Wall Street Oasis, where industry insiders might share their experiences and insights.

If you wanna do ficc in asia, solid seat. Some of the biggest franchises on street, with a proper risk taking culture, and people they wanna pay they pay, heard more than a couple VPs in ficc flow seats made 700k+USD last year. Base is low compared to street, but if they like you, your total comp will be in line. Bonus is bigger part of total comp. Also, making D within 7-8 years, not that uncommon.

Equities, don’t know much about but don’t think it’s even as closely good as their fx or em rates.

Outside asia, couple strong teams in london with some pretty talented senior traders, but overall not so strong apart from fx.

Thank you so much for this info. Do you know anything specific to their US desk?
