P/L
Just out of curiosity, what would be an average daily P/L within a specific group at a trading house ? 50k? 500k?
I am sure it depends of the products being traded, but it would be nice to have an indication of what would a great trading team can do
That is like asking what the average salary of a guy working in finance is
It doesn't just depend on product, it depends on size of position, risk taken, type of trading etc.

You should read "The Most Important Thing" by Howard Marks. It's great to put a dollar amount on things, after all, this is the money business, but I think you need to understand risk adjusted return.
VAR homey VAR
Daily PnL varies tremendously by desk and by trader since not everyone has the same limits.
I knew i was going to get shit with such a question ! I meant a P/L with a flat book at the end of each day.
However, even in a context such as you describe it will depend on the risk limits a group like this is given.
Don't think any trader in a BB will have a flat book at the end of each day. Maybe a very junior govie trader.... . For a junior in flow credit I would say daily PnL vol can be [-250k;+250k].
