Rate My Gap Year for chances in trading
Basically, i took a gap year to try and get good exp, and am set to attend uni in september (a target for a quantitative subject, achieved all a's, a*'s prior so academics are fine in that respect), however my gap year is a tricky situation.
During my gap year I interned at a recruitment and strategy consultancy operating within the private equity sector for a couple of months, and then three months at a quant hedge fund. Apart from this, I learned C# to a proficient level and went on one of those dumb ass overpriced tech analysis trading courses for CV purposes
My question is, while the experience I got was decent, how will the big banks view the huge gaps in my gap year? I mean, i only spent 5 months working. During the rest of the time I have been self studying, but I don't really have anything to show for this. I am going to the south of france for a month to trek round the mountains, but aside from that will lack of travel+huge gaps not doing anything 'official' cause employers to have doubts about me?
Anyone?
