Two part question about trading commodities on my own
Hi all,
I'd appreciate some input on the following questions:
-
Going into my senior year of college (accepted a FT offer at a BB IBD) and have been trading on Scottrade for 1.5 years and doing ok. For my personal education, I'd like to venture into commodities trading. Can anyone recommend an online discount broke-ass college student commodities trading platform?

There are a ton of restrictions which apply to having a personal trading account while working for a bank, esp. for equities. Do these restrictions apply to commodities as well? I'm guessing so, but I'd be interested to hear from someone who has dealt with this issue.
Thanks.
I think Lind Waldock is the pioneer in Futures trading..
Assuming you are just really looking for execution platform your best bet is going to be Interactive brokers.
I have used many different platforms for equities/options/futures and interactive brokers is probably the best all around platform out there.
Start there, if you need specific things let me know and i can guide you. I have used many different platforms.
