What pathway would be best if one's goals were to be to be a quantitative analyst/trader?
Hi everybody, this is my first post here! I'm currently about to start my major courses in my 4yr university with the major being finance. I've recently become extremely interested in the idea of creating automated trading systems. I've talked to a couple people and they have given me general advice such as: Have a good econometrics background, take your CFA exams, take multiple data science certifications/exams, take some machine learning courses/certifications, make sure to learn programming (python and R being good places to start), also doing TA programming for a big firms dealing room like GS, or JPM. Is there anything more specific that one would recommend, or a more specific pathway to meet those goals?
