Going around the headhunter after not making it past the resume screen

Currently at MBB and interested in making the jump to growth equity. I am a pre-MBA manager at MBB now with very good reviews. Didn't get past the headhunter resume screen but I have a strong profile for this fund (top target, 4.0 in computer science, lots of relevant tech experience at and pre-MBB). I'm thinking about networking with a partner (he is an alum of my school) at this fund to still try and get my foot in the door. Is this a waste of time for me to try? If not, how long is appropriate for me to ask to schedule the call for?

Can you give a rough breakdown of your tech career before mbb (swe/pm/etc?) and also how long you have been at mbb/at what level? Just interested, hoping for a similar career trajectory

Fuck the recruiter?

Reaching out to people you have shared backgrounds with on LinkedIn and talking to them man-to-man is how you build a connection and get ingrained into their memory. If they like you, they will likely fast track you to a first-round, after which of course it is up to you, or they may reach out if there's a vacant spot that needs off-cycle hiring.
