I'm a non-finance senior in college (former finance major). I'm entrepreneurial and wouldn't want a crazy training program or someone breathing over my shoulder constantly.. are there any pwm grad programs that allow you to start building a client book early on? Preferably in London. I know careers in pwm are risky but I feel like I have nothing to lose to try it for a few months...

Yes, there are plenty of Private Wealth Management (PWM) or Private Banking (PB) formalized programs like at JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley PWM/MSSB, and UBS. These are rotational programs where you learn about the business from an analytical and operational role before you potentially begin building your 'book.' You can, of course, try to get in the door with a team from one of the bigger wirehouses (Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo Advisors, UBS Financial Services, etc.), however this may be harder.
