Best time to email ER MD?
I am in touch with an ER head of research for an industry reagarding a potential job and I was wondering what usually is the best time (what days and what hours) to email them?

another person said Tuesday morning on this thread but i guess it might be different for IB? when do you think the quarterly earning rush will die down? planning to get in touch then.
You can look at their coverage and see for yourself.
Not during quarterly reporting
thank you so much. when is the peak of quarterly earning would you say? i’m planning to get in touch later this month but when things calm down a little.
Definitely this. I’ve gotten emails/requests for calls during the peak of earnings. Those don’t usually get responses because they clearly don’t know or don’t care how the industry works. Spend some time learning the industry, and figure out when that particular analyst has their peak earnings based on their coverage. This is basic ground work. You’ll need this type of skill on the job.
As long as it’s during business hour then you’re fine. Make sure your email is succinct and a few sentences at almost. Make it easy so they only have to respond with a yes/no, what time, and where.
Tuesday morning
Cold call 3 am on a Sunday morning.
Shows determination and commitment.
haha
Go to nextearningsdate.com and find what companies they cover that are reporting. Assume big names in coverage correspond with the rest of the calendar (ex. BA for A&D, MSFT for software, JnJ for HC etc.) then DO NOT email them during the week prior and two weeks after. Off season is typically June-August. Then, schedule send for like 4:15pm and you might get their attention. Keep it brief and ask for a phone call if anything, cold emails need to be actionable or else they’ll just skim it and move on
thank you so much, that’s very solid advice. do you know where I can find the analyst’s coverage without having to subscribe to tipranks?
Typically they’ll have it in their linkedin, can also search on Barron’s because Barron’s is a shitty reposter of research. You don’t need a subscription to view the headline and that’ll typically give it away. You can also just PM me the analysts name and I’ll tell you what they cover
