Hey all,
I am currently heading to a school this fall that participated in the protest. I would say it isn’t one of the ones that got super ugly but still I’m curious. In terms of recruitment and overall sentiment how are banks viewing protest schools/students? Am I going to be punished despite not partaking in these events or will it be a basis by basis process?

Dude its not like you go to a school named UC antisemites. Do you rly think ppl r gonna care that your school has some woke blue haired kids?
I think it’s a mix. I know a good amount of banks know that most of these protests are run by professional protesters who are hired to cause a scene and have no affiliation with the university. But there are some banks that view some of these universities who have done very little to stop the chaos on their campuses negatively and have said they will hold this against them when it comes to recruitment.
It doesn't matter who is actually doing the protesting, it matter how the universities react. People use their universities as a brand, when your brand it associated with morons and leaders who seem to eat paste while drooling on their desks it doesn't reflect well on the quality of students that come out of there.
When your resume is screened during applications the 4 biggest things they look for are your GPA, school, extracurricular/work involvement and your school’s involvement in Palestinian protests. Hope this helps
Not a comment on the protestors but more on advice to you in general. You're in HS. You haven't started college. You may think you know what you want to do, but it would be very common for your goals and interests to change while in college, and afterwards. In fact it would be unusual if they didn't.
I say all this to advise you to go into college with an open mind and explore all kinds of things. Don't be so preprogrammed into thinking about everything from the lens of your future IB employer. It's good to have goals, and you'll want to jump on things (ECs, get a great GPA, etc) early, but have fun, explore and be open. The last thing the banking world needs is another preprogrammed robot.

I will say I’m in a bit different situation, I am 25 served 4 in the military. I’m never going to think like my boss but I also just don’t want to goto a school that banks are gonna blacklist.
