2022 Thoughts on Gordon Dyal & Co?

Anyone have any updated info on Gordon Dyal & Co in terms of comp, deal flow, or PE exits? A friend of a friend told me that they don’t have a SA intern class and only hire laterals. They have analysts leaving top EBs (Evercore/Moelis) and seem to he growing rapidly since 2020.

Heard hours are terrible (9-2am even on weekends), but all in pay for AN1s last year cleared $300k.

No summer analyst class and only hire laterally. Workload is obscene as far as hours ago (yes everyone will tell you its the same at any good boutique but its actually absurd at Dyal, hence why I left). That said, pay is unbeatable and the experience you get there is tremendous so if you're interested in staying in banking its a great place to be

Heard the culture/hours has gotten a lot better recently. Pays beyond top of the street and can focus on mega cap deals.

same as what everyone else has said…old school banker type shop that rails you in the ass but pay makes up for it
