Investor Relations Case Study
Does anyone know what I can expect in an IR case study or has experience with IR case studies? I have an hour long case study and zero clue as to what I should expect for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

I was just curious which firm perform case study for IR positions. Maybe for entry analysts role to prevent company from hiring someone really not familiar with PE jargons and concepts.
Context for this question is I work at one of biggest LPs in the world and know a tons of IR guys but haven't heard anything about IR case study yet. Just out of curiosity..
That's essentially the reason. IR case studies are meant to test basic knowledge of fund formation and capital raising, honing in on the mechanics, such as cobbling together a set of slides for presentation (including a straight forward overview of portco's), basic technicals (building and running through a fund model) or presenting a mock FOF manager selection process across various fund opportunities. It's a very wide range given no one really knows how to test for "IR skills" at the junior level. And to your point, they've really only started doing it recently. So current mid-level and certainly senior-level IR professionals have never even heard of such case studies as the screens used by firms back in the day were very different.
Years ago and up to present day, few ppl graduated college thinking they'd be an IR / capital formation professional. In the past, it was mostly: "hey, you're a woman and white and don't seem too keen on staying on the investment side, do you want to pivot to IR?" Thankfully, the field has grown, exponentially in recent years and you see much more development and thought being dedicated to this space. IR still has a long way to go but GPs and LPs alike are increasingly apprecating the function's value, in particular during times like this when capital raising is difficult. I can assure you that all the firms who had dedicated time, attention and resources to IR prior to 2022 are doing just fine and probably even flourishing right now.
